Linking I-57 & I-294 … And Re-Routing a Creek

PMCS is overseeing construction of the new interchange at I-57 and I-294. The project includes re-routing a portion of Dixie Creek, which currently runs through the location of a planned new ramp. Once the interchange is completed, there will be only point in the U.S. where interstates cross without an interchange.

The first phase of the project, which also will add new exit and entrance ramps between I-294 and 147th Street, is scheduled for completion by the end of 2014. This work is part of the Tollway’s new $12-billion capital program, Move Illinois: The Illinois Tollway Building the Future.
